  • Adventure Cycle-Touring Handbook (2015) – in-depth guide to bicycle touring anywhere and everywhere on the planet, one of the best complete resources I have found, for both UK & US audiences, at the least will inspire your next EPIC adventure
  • Essential Touring Cyclist (2001) – detailed and dated, but much of the information is outdated in terms of gear and bikes and doesn’t factor in bikepacking innovations or new brands/models

Camino guidebooks

  • Camino de Santiago: Camino Francés (Village to Village Press) – comprehensive guide to the Camino Francés, serves cyclists well while using this website as a companion guide. Also available as a lightweight maps, elevation profiles and accommodations only version from St. Jean to Santiago in 96 pages.

  • Camino Guidebook (V2V) – Our companion website about hiking the Camino de Santiago includes many helpful resources for planning that are also relevant to bike pilgrims.
  • American Pilgrims on the Camino – This US-based Camino support volunteer-based non-profit organization. They provide support to American on the Camino through planning resources, trainings such as hospitalero workshops, providing credenciales to American pilgrims, and supporting Camino infrastructure through grants.
  • The Confraternity of Saint James (UK) – A UK-based Camino support organization that publishes basic guidebooks to most routes, provides support to pilgrims including credenciales, and support Camino infrastructure, including sponsoring Albergue Guacelmo on the Francés route, and Albergue Miraz on the Camino del Norte.
