David Landis is an experienced bicycle tourer and guidebook author. He has cycle toured more than 15,000 miles (25,000km) including multiple trips across the continental US/Canada, a Athens to Berlin ride through Eastern Europe, the Oregon & California coasts, Quebec’s Route Vertes, the Great Allegheny Pass and C&O Canal rail trail/canal towpath routes, and dozens of other tours. He is the coauthor of Hiking the Camino de Santiago and Hiking the Jesus Trail. He has worked extensively in multi-use trail development for community-based tourism initiatives in the Middle East. When he is not out on the trail, pouring over maps or tinkering with bicycles, David enjoys spending time with his wife and son, Silas.
